Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 August 2026

The short version. HyperPipes has no analytics, no telemetry, no ads and no trackers. It never sends your data to us, because we don't run a server to send it to. Your saves and settings stay on your own machine. The only things that leave your computer are the ones Steam handles: leaderboard times and online multiplayer.

Who this is

HyperPipes is made and published by CrashBamBoom, an independent one-person developer. "We" and "us" below mean exactly that.

What the game stores on your computer

These files live in your own user folder. They are never uploaded, and we have no way to read them:

Deleting the game's user folder erases all of it permanently. Nothing is kept anywhere else.

What goes to Steam

The game uses Steamworks for two features. Both are handled by Valve's systems, not ours:

Valve also collects its own data about your use of Steam — purchases, playtime, achievements — under its own policy, which we have no part in and no access to beyond the aggregate sales figures every Steam developer sees. See the Steam Privacy Policy.

What the game does not do

Outside of Steam's own features described above, the game makes no network connections at all.

Children

HyperPipes is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone of any age. Access to Steam itself is governed by Valve's own age requirements.

If you report a bug

Bug reports are entirely voluntary and go through our public issue tracker on GitHub. Anything you write there is public and tied to your GitHub account, and is covered by GitHub's privacy statement. Please don't put anything private in a bug report. If you attach a save file or a log, we use it only to reproduce the problem.

This website

This site is static — no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts, and nothing for you to log into. It is hosted on GitHub Pages and served through Cloudflare, both of which keep their own standard server logs (including visitor IP addresses) for security and abuse prevention, under their own policies. We don't add anything to that and we don't read those logs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — the UK and EU under GDPR, California under the CCPA, and elsewhere — you have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you.

In practice we hold nothing to give you, so the honest answer is that those requests belong with the parties that do hold it: Valve, via your Steam account for anything Steam-side, and GitHub for anything in the bug tracker. If you want a leaderboard entry of yours removed, write to us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it and the change is noted in the game's patch notes. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
